Breast Procedures Overview

Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure that enhances the body contour of a woman who is unhappy with her small breast size and/or reduction of breast volume after pregnancy.

Breast lift surgery, or mastopexy, restores a more youthful appearance to a woman’s breasts. Over the years, breasts can lose their shape and firmness due to pregnancy, nursing and loss of skin elasticity, causing them to sag. A breast lift will raise and reshape breasts, slowing the effects of aging and gravity. This procedure can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple, if the patient desires.

Many women desire to have larger, more voluptuous breasts and opt to receive breast enlarging surgeries to achieve those results. For women who are born with large, pendulous breasts or develop them over time, discover that they may not be as desirable as most women think.

Unlike breast implants, pectoral implants are made out of harder silicone and do not rupture. The implant is usually placed through a small incision in the armpit and placed below the pectoralis major muscle.
