We understand that you may be facing concerns and uncertainties surrounding COVID-19 – particularly as it relates to your care in our surgical center.
As an AAAHC Certified Oral, Maxillofacial and Cosmetic Surgical facility, we follow guidelines from CDC, AAOMS and the ADA regarding protocols and responses in the eventuality of infectious diseases including coronavirus.
When you come for your appointment in the following weeks, please keep in mind:
- Staff is prohibited from shaking hands or extending hugs to patients.
- Symptomatic patients will be asked to reschedule their surgeries.
- Common areas are being sanitized continuously throughout the day (Door handles, chairs, etc.)
- Companions will be limited to ONE per patient, and we suggest to keep children at home.
- The waiting area has been reorganized following social distancing guidelines.
Can I Have Oral Surgery during COVID-19 Outbreak?
If you answer yes to any of the following questions you should delay surgery.
1. In the past 14 days have you visited China, Iran, Italy or South Korea?
2. Have you been exposed to a person with suspected or confirmed coronavirus?
3. Do you currently have any of the following:
Fever
Cough
Shortness of breath
If you answer NO to all the above questions it is safe.
Will surgery make me more susceptible to the virus?
This simple answer is no. Think of your risk of contracting the flu during a normal flu season. If you need elective surgery it is safe. You should, however, take proper precautions when moving about the city.
